Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (2 posts) in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 500635), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Biology, Microbiology or equivalent, and a strong background in bioinformatics, natural product biosynthesis, or synthetic biology and its application to chemical biology research. Those with experience in deep learning or synthetic biology would have an advantage. Fluency in written and spoken English, good organizational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work independently, and self-motivation are essential. The appointees will work on the genome mining- and synthetic biology- enabled discovery of natural products from ocean and human microbiota under the supervision of Dr. Y.X. Li. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
