Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Management (Ref. 20071008)

The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business.  MM is dedicated to providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business — ManagementMarketing, and Management Information Systems.  MM offers a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Business Administration.  MM currently has around 50 full-time academic staff who are actively involved in research, consultancy, and management development work with businesses in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and internationally.  MM is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service to the community.

The Department invites applications for faculty position in Management (Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management / Entrepreneurship / Strategic Management) at the rank of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor.  The faculty members in the Management discipline of MM regularly publish in top-tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, and other premier outlets.  Research-focused applicants who are interested in joining our vibrant and growing research team are strongly encouraged to apply for the post.

The appointee will be required to (a) engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise; (b) supervise research students; (c) compete for Hong Kong Research Grants Council funding; (d) teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his delegates.

Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it.

Preference will be given to those with a focused research orientation and the potential or demonstrated ability to publish in high quality scholarly journals.  Applicants with evidence of publications in major journals may be considered for the ranks at Associate Professor or above.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
