Singapore Management University

Appointment of Dean, Lee Kong Chian School of Business

Singapore Management University (SMU) has started a global search for its next Dean of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB). Founded only in 2000 and offering a transformative education for a new generation of graduates and leaders, and a multi-disciplinary research environment to help tackle the world’s complexities and positively impact humanity.

LKCSB is one of Asia’s premier business schools: in its short history of 20 years, LKCSB has become a top 50 global business school based on the Financial Times subject category survey. It is among the top 1 percent of business schools in the world having achieved a Triple Crown accreditation rating (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA). LKCSB is a research-driven school (ranked 33 in the UT Dallas global rankings of business schools), and offers a blend of education that focuses on academic research and industrial relevance. The School is supported by a generous gift from the Lee Foundation and is home to over 4,000 students and over 120 faculty.

Building on the foundations laid over the past 20 years and the success achieved during the tenure of the outgoing Dean, Professor Gerry George, the next LKCSB’s leader will have the unrivalled opportunity to accelerate the School’s progress towards becoming the most innovative business school in Asia, recognised around the world for thought leadership and international and Asia specific management insights. The Dean will be tasked to advance the excellence and relevance of the School’s programs, establish stronger connections with alumni, industry and government and foster a culture of collaboration across the university and its partners. In doing so she or he will need to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and bold leadership that both inspires and supports faculty, students and communities the School seeks to serve.
