Your journey

Newcastle Business School (NBS) is within the Faculty of Business and Law. The School teaches offshore and in Newcastle City, Sydney, Ourimbah and online. We deliver an exceptional student experience, preparing graduates for life in an increasingly interconnected society.NBS has received international acclaim for its programs through accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The School is renowned for excellence in internationally relevant research. Many of our academic staff members are leaders in their disciplines. Our research priorities and strengths reflect the areas in which we contribute considerably to the knowledge base in business.

NBS is making significant investment into several growth areas including Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Finance, and Management. This is your opportunity to contribute and be responsible for re-establishing, rebuilding and refocusing key disciplines. Multiple positions have been made available fora Level C role in the field of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a Level B or C role in Accounting, and Level B roles in the fields of Finance and Management.

You will contribute as a key member of the School, providing excellence in research and innovation, teaching and learning, and service and engagement.Your ability to develop and mentor academics, students and HDR students is critical to your success in these roles.

These are permanent, full time roles, based at the Newcastle campus, New South Wales, Australia.

The University’s College of Engineering, Science and Environment (CESE) brings together expertise in engineering, environment, and the sciences to deliver life ready graduates and transformative solutions to our region and the world.  CESE strives for excellence, innovation and equity in teaching, education, research and partnerships.  We are global leaders uncovering new knowledge, creating revolutionary technology, and delivering innovative teaching.

The School of Engineering is one of the most research-intensive Schools within the University.  The School consists of four discipline groupings:

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering and Surveying
  • Chemical and Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Aerospace Systems, Electrical, Computer Systems
  • Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering

The School is home to many leading-edge research centres and has strong links with industry through sponsored undergraduate students and research collaborations. It is highly research active, contributing substantially to the overall research inputs and outputs of the CESE.  This is reflected in the 2018 Excellence in Research in Australia outcomes where Electrical, Civil, Mechanical and Resource Engineering codes all received an ERA5.
