King's College London is creating a new eResearch Directorate to support research at the University. The aim of eResearch is to become a valued and respected partner in research at KCL, by helping to enable and facilitate computational- and data-intensive research across campus.
To achieve this objective, we are building a team of experts in the platforms and methods of eResearch. We are currently looking to recruit into some of the most senior leadership roles in the team, including a Head of Research Data Storage Engineering.

In eResearch, we will be enabling the core pillars of research computing: (a) models driving data (interpretation of empirical observations, and guidance for data collection and design of studies) - simulation and modelling, (b) data driving insights - data analytics and data science, and (iii) models inferred from data - machine and deep learning. We will enable a spectrum of research across the academic disciplines, from deep learning in medical imaging to agent-based models in epidemiology and NGS pipelines in genomics, and will we continue to evolve as computational- and data-sciences develop.

The Head of Research Data Storage Engineering role is an exciting opportunity to make a significant improvement in research capability at KCL. If you are an experienced Research Computing/Research IT/eResearch expert, and you are interested in playing a pivotal role in developing a new capability at a world-class research university, please refer to the Job Pack for more information about this post.
