Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and innovative technical person to work in an interdisciplinary team to provide technical support to our teaching and research programs. Working primarily in new state-of-the-art facilities supporting the Design and Technology discipline areas, this role would suit someone who is willing and able to support and be involved in other discipline areas supported by the School as required.

The role is varied, and many projects undertaken are unusual, so require a flexible approach and the ability to ‘think outside the box’. You will use your sound practical knowledge and experience of working with wood and/or metalwork on a regular basis and advanced manufacturing including CAD/CAM and digital and electronic technologies.

Working with Academic Staff, students and others, who have a variety of knowledge and understanding of the discipline area, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

To be successful in this role, you must meet the requirements for a Working with Children Check, National Police Certificate, and a Pre-placement Medical & Health Assessment (Category B).

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $72,103 - $80,122 (pro rata for part-time) plus 17% University superannuation contribution. The Part -time role hours are to be negotiated.
