Job Description

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Faculty Affairs Coordinator. Primary purpose of the position is to process faculty actions relating to recruitment, appointment, reappointment, promotion, sabbatical, termination and affirmative action/EEO compliance for a department with 150 active faculty members. Position will independently serve as resource to faculty, staff and administrators regarding policies, procedures and processes relating to faculty actions. Manage credentialing actions for clinicians, including request for application for initial hospital privileges (OMA), maintain FPPE and OPPE compliance. This position requires project management skills; communication skills, verbal and written are critical. Position in contingent upon funding


Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptionally organized, meticulous and detail oriented. Must be able to work independently; multi task; meet critical simultaneous deadlines; prioritize; be customer service oriented; be able to work effectively as a team member; be able to effectively communicate with diverse constituencies: must develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues throughout the Department and the School of Medicine; knowledge of PENN and PSOM faculty policies; demonstrated technical expertise (use of web browser and internet for forms, reports, web based applications; all Microsoft office products, etc.)
