Job Description Summary

The Penn Memory Center (PMC) seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator - A to join our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. The coordinator will oversee the Aging Brain Cohort study (ABC Study), a large (400 person) longitudinal non-treatment cohort study. Primary responsibilities include recruiting participants with a special emphasis on persons who are African-American/Black, scheduling visits, administration of cognitive testing and participation in neuroimaging and experimental cognitive neuroscience studies linked to this cohort. Additional responsibilities include collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, supervisor, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results.
The PMC is a National Institute on Aging designated research center recognized for our role in developing and conducting innovative research for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative diseases

Job Description

This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials and responsibilities in specific research area. Coordinate the screening of patients, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects.

Position contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
