Your discipline. Your passion. Our success, together.

About You

We seek an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.  You should have a relevant background as a Physician Associate or similar clinical experience and use appropriate underpinning strategies to inform teaching.

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and professional experience. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within the new Medical School.  Our research profile is expanding, and our staff are required to engage in this activity and we have established research themes. The medical School has a growing enterprise and CPD remit and you will also be required to contribute to the successful development and implementation of this.

About the Role

The post is to support the expansion and development of The Edge Hill University Medical School at an exciting time in its evolution.

Whilst the focus of this position will be on supporting our MSc Physician Associate Studies programme, the successful post holder will be expected to contribute to our MBChB and our Foundation Year for Medicine programmes. There will be opportunities to contribute, where appropriate, to other postgraduate programmes within the Medical School as well as in the development and delivery of CPD, including that for Physician Associates.

The successful candidate will complement our existing staffing and expertise to deliver on this provision, enhancing the student experience by providing excellent and effective teaching that is embedded in current, evidence-based practice, supporting students to achieve their full potential and preparing them for safe and effective practice throughout their clinical career.

As related to the subject speciality outlined above, the successful candidate will be supported to develop a strong research profile.

We want you to feel happy when you come to work and proud when you go home.

From the moment you join us you have the opportunity to enhance your skills. You will have access to a range of specialist development programmes and academic development opportunities along with an award winning and comprehensive staff health & wellbeing programme (HR Excellence Awards 2017).  You will receive a full academic induction, be enrolled on our PGC Teaching in Higher Education (as deemed appropriate), benefit from the Edge Hill University CPD scheme (UKPSF) and our annual University Learning and Teaching day all to support your professional development. Additionally, the School and Faculty has a vibrant range of staff research, teaching and learning seminar programmes.

This is just a taste of what we are able to offer you at Edge Hill University.
