Job Description

This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials and responsibilities in specific research area. Coordinate the screening of patients, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects.

The Clinical Research Coordinator A is responsible for oversight, execution, and regulatory compliance of human subject research.

This position will be managing a research study and project that is carried out in the Movement Disorders Division of the Neurology Department. They will be responsible for recruiting patients as appropriate and coordinating all research activities for assigned projects. This role will also interact with physicians, outside physicians, and other healthcare personnel to help facilitate the necessary procedures for the research studies conducted within the department.

This Clinical Research Coordinator A will administer a broad range of assessments including motor assessments and cognitive testing on research subjects. This employee will train and maintain certification as needed to administer these assessments. Serving as a back-up coordinator on other studies within the department may be a part of the scope of this position as well.

The candidate must be detail-oriented, ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with IRB guidelines, human subject research practices, and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols is a plus.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
