(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible, the position is limited to 12 months. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG).

Tasks: In our strongly interdisciplinary project ‘beyond light driven microswimmers’ on the use of microfluidics and advanced optics in combination with active matter we need support on constructing setups, characterising materials and behaviors and summarising results. The successful applicant is expected to help PhD and undergraduated students to plan and perform research and summarise the findings in concise and well written manuscripts. We offer state of the art facilities and expect your participation in presentation and publication of the results.

Requirements: university degree in chemistry or physics and a PhD in a related field. Previous experience in optics and microscopy is of advantage, as well as conducting research related to colloidal or active matter. We are seeking for a highly motivated scientist with knowledge of synthetic chemistry, analytic methods and microscopic techniques. Experience in statistics and data handling are highly desirable. An independent working style and a proactive attitude are requirements for this position. The on-site cooperation requires team spirit and solid knowledge of the German or the English language.

Applications from women are particularly welcome. The same applies to people with disabilities.
