Job Details
Working within the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering, you will provide expertise in an area of Electrical Engineering to further enhance research, teaching and entrepreneurial activities. This will include designing, developing and delivering high-quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high-quality academic outputs, and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.
The Department has particular strengths in four core research areas: Renewable Energy Technologies & Materials, Electrical Power & Control Systems, Photonics & Communications (including Optical Communications) and Smart Materials & Surfaces.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strengths in any of the following areas: energy production generation or storage devices specifically in relation to electric vehicles and smart homes, optics/photonics in relation to device design or communication channels, The Internet of Things, or digital electronic synthesis, though we will consider high-quality applications in any relevant area.
You must hold a first degree and be qualified to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise in Electrical Engineering with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high-quality research-led teaching within an appropriate field and a strong publication profile are essential.
