Description

The Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago invites applications for part-time lecturer positions for the 2020-2021 academic year to expand its course offerings in international development and international policy. We seek excellent teachers and experienced practitioners to teach in a variety of courses that enrich the Harris School’s already robust curriculum. Candidates must have at least a tentative idea for a course or seminar to be offered, as well as expertise and experience directly relevant to the course or seminar being proposed. Priority topics include: health, education, economic growth, and applied policy making, among other topics. We are also interested in scholar-practitioners to run applied “policy labs” that help masters students as they work with policy clients.

Qualified candidates must have a graduate level degree; a PhD is preferred. Candidates must have relevant or policy-related experience; prior experience teaching students is strongly preferred.

We will review applications on an on-going basis throughout the year, beginning on July 24, 2020, but will stop accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year on January 4, 2021. Each candidate must submit a curriculum vitae or resume and a course proposal. Optionally, prior teaching course evaluations and other materials relevant to your candidacy may be included. Interested candidates must submit their application through the University of Chicago’s Interfolio job boards at apply.interfolio.com/76861 .

The position will be part of the Service Employees International Union.
