Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Transplantation, seeks a Clinical Associate at 100% effort for a nonrenewable two‐year term.  The successful applicant will assist with various clinical responsibilities within the abdominal transplant programs. 

This individual will be responsible for abdominal organ procurement, assisting in the operating room during living donor, kidney, liver, islet and pancreas transplants, and caring for patients in both the inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. 

We especially welcome applicants with experience in abdominal and islet cell transplantation and successful completion of transplant fellowship. The position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is  dependent on qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible by The American Board of Surgery or the foreign equivalent, and 4)have  completed an American Society of Transplant Surgeons(ASTS) accredited fellowship or equivalent training in kidney and/or liver and/or pancreas transplantation.
