PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR, edX, to build out and run in two phases the edX payroll function. The building period (through December 2020) will focus on systems and setup; working with a project team to configure the HRIS system (Ceridian Dayforce) and building out its payroll module and others as assigned; researching and enrolling edX in appropriate tax jurisdictions for payroll; and developing and testing payroll policies and procedures. The responsibilities, beyond January 2021, will include managing the entire payroll function for hourly and salaried employees and overseeing commission and bonus payrolls and payroll benefit accruals; collaborating with the accounting team on providing accurate and effective journal entry reporting documents; managing edX’s enrollment processes in appropriate tax jurisdictions; reconciling payroll to appropriate third-party statements; analyzing payroll alongside the FP&A team for trends, opportunities, and anomalies; supporting annual audit pertaining to employee compensation and benefit accounts; and building out processes and systems in alignment with edX’s needs and growth plans. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: three years’ experience in a payroll administrator or similar role; proficiency running the entire payroll function, including employee set-up and review, batch review (hourly, salary, commission), payroll processing, auditing, and reporting; proficiency reconciling third-party (benefits and taxes primarily) invoices to payroll system deductions; understanding of the open enrollment process and employee set-up within a payroll system; and experience enrolling in new tax jurisdictions to support payroll filing requirement (income tax withholding, SUI, and other payroll taxes).

PREFERRED: Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or multiple payroll systems; experience converting to or building out payroll systems; and comfort working with a small team in a growing, fast-paced environment.  Job 18784-P
