SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) REPRESENTATIVE, School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS), to provide direct human resources support to the assistant dean for finance and administration and director of human resources. Responsibilities will include providing support to the school's administrative officers and hiring managers on a variety of HR functions, including guidance on processing academic and nonacademic appointment paperwork; advising on MIT personnel policies and procedures and school guidelines; serving as a liaison with MIT's HR/Payroll Service Center and parking coordinator for SHASS; assisting with serious search efforts; designing and building templates, tools, reports, and other work forms to streamline processes and procedures; working with key stakeholders to outline project objectives, execute action steps, and oversee ongoing maintenance updates for the SHASS Dean’s Office intranet; tracking and updating faculty sabbaticals and other leaves, reappointment scheduling, and promotion and tenure schedules; coordinating all aspects of the R&R program; managing diversity predoctoral call for applications; and performing other assigned duties.
REQUIRED: a minimum of five years of human resources experience; highly developed interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people and work both independently and as a team member; excellent organizational and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and work effectively to meet deadlines in a busy environment; advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel; self-motivation; and tact and discretion with highly confidential information/issues. MIT experience a plus. Bachelor's degree and experience with MIT's systems (Cognos, BrioQuery) and SAP preferred. Job #18096-6
