Job Details
Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab has a unique research opportunity in the programme of advanced manufacturing technologies. This project aims to provide an innovative solution in vibro finishing processes for complex components in aero engines and in the development of new processing technology for internal finishing of complex internal channels in fluid flow systems
Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments in industrial standard laboratory environment
- Design of tooling and development of sensors for manufacturing process controls
- Develop numerical models for advanced manufacturing processes
- Analyses of results and documentation of project updates for stakeholders
Requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
- Relevant experience in manufacturing processes such as mass finishing, computer simulation and modelling
- Strong Background in Finite Element Analysis and CAD tools
- Knowledge of Discrete Element Modelling, Vibro- and Surface- finishing processes, Design of Experiments, Surface Characterization Techniques
- Specialised knowledge in surfaces and sub-surfaces of heat-resistant alloys
- Critical thinking and good problem-solver
- Teamwork spirit coupled with a "can do" attitude and good communications skills

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.
The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:

• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
