The School of Arts and Social Sciences' Academic Services are pleased to announce that they have an exciting opportunity available for the role of Quality Officer on a 12-month fixed term/ secondment basis, managing the Quality Administrator and reporting to the Quality Manager.
The School’s Academic Services team provides administrative support and advice to academic staff within the School and play an important role in supporting the student experience. The team is involved in the programme approval process, managing student appeals, complaints and academic misconduct cases, servicing academic committees and providing support and advice on adjustments for disabled students.
The Quality Officer works closely with the Quality Manager and with other School staff as well as with central Student and Academic Services. The role covers all educational provision delivered by the School that leads to a degree. The Quality Officer is a senior point of expertise on all matters related to Quality and liaises with and advises senior colleagues in the School.
The purpose of this post is to manage the effective operation of University policies and procedures for quality assurance within the School and oversee the effective operation of the School’s committee structure.
The ideal candidate will have a first degree and experience of working in higher education on degree programmes and/or quality assurance roles at academic faculty or department level. They will also be able to work effectively with a wide range of people and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
