Job Details

One Research Fellow is currently available in the Psychology Division, School of Social Sciences from NTU. The successful applicant will collaborate with Asst Prof Suzy Styles on the design and implementation of studies to investigate the nature of multi-lingual language mixes in Singapore, and their relationship to the development of infant sensory systems during the early stages of language acquisition in Singapore. He/She will assist in research activities and the day-to-day management of the BLIP lab.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Linguistics, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with EEG, preferable with difficult populations (e.g. children, adults with disabilities)
  • Programming experiments using Eprime, Presentation, Matlab or equivalent
  • Ability to work with young children and families
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Competence in Windows, Mac OS and standard office software
  • Experience in statistical analysis of complex data sets

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
