The Microsystem Technologies Development Centre (MTDC) of Temasek Laboratories invites applicants for the position of Research Assistant.

Job Description:

  • Strong knowledge in overall wafer fabrication processes
  • Self-initiator with effective Design of Experiment (DOE) to complete the work on time with conclusive remarks
  • Continuous support and immediate feedback to Module leader (Lithography) / Asst. Fab Manager
  • Perform daily operation within the Lithography module
  • Develop new recipe to cater for new project needs
  • Maintain key inventories within the lithography module
  • Regular preventive maintenance of the lithography tools
  • Perform mask layout design and maintenance of database
  • Data analysis and preparation of reports/slides after the completion of experiments

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree (with minimum 1 year of relevant experience) in either Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Material Science/Physics/Chemistry or Other related field
  • Hands-on experience with strong knowledge and understanding in the area of Semiconductor wafer processes and its Devices
  • Knowledge/experience/skills in Photolithography processes (e.g: photo-resist spinning, mask alignment, developing, inspection under the microscope)
  • Knowledge in mask layout design would be an added advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and provide possible solution to the team by doing the designed experiments

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
