Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modelling, Urban Economics and Regional Science in the Department of Urban Planning and Design (Ref. 500139) of the Faculty of Architecture (Ref. 500139), to commence as soon as possible but not later than September 1, 2020, for a period of three years.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in economics, regional science, urban planning, human geography or other related fields; with a strong track record in the following: peer-reviewed publications in transport/environmental studies based on the application of computable general equilibrium (CGE) and econometric models; and experience in co-authoring and managing competitive research grants. Research experience with GIS applications to network analysis would be an advantage.
The appointee will report directly to the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Dr. Kyung-Min Nam. He/She will participate in multiple projects based on CGE models of the Chinese economy with emphasis on cross-border/inter-city transport infrastructure development and economic cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, overlapped with the University’s strategically oriented research theme “China and the Belt and Road Initiative Economies”. His/Her primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing/improving multi-region CGE models for China and its Greater Bay Area and applying them to various economic impact assessments. The appointee is also expected to start new projects on the basis of new funding.
