NURSE PRACTICE MANAGER, MIT Medical, to manage the day-to-day operations and practice functions of the service area. Will act as a principal resource on all operational matters and possibly as a consultant to nurse practice managers of other service areas. Will monitor provider schedules, ensuring appropriate front-line staff is present and a reasonable number of patients are scheduled in order to best facilitate patient care; develop/implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and monitor data to evaluate effectiveness of interventions; develop and implement procedures to ensure efficient work processing; participate in confidential staff salary planning; develop and maintain systems/processes that measure the results of front-line staff work/productivity, volume, patient/staff/provider satisfaction, etc.; and support the practice manager. The position involves extensive interact with physicians, NPs, PAs, clinical nurses, medical assistants, reception staff, administrative staff, and patients.
REQUIRED: licensure as a registered nurse in Massachusetts; BLS certification; BSN (master’s in nursing preferred); at least five years’ nurse management experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting; demonstrated managerial, organizational, leadership, time management, and verbal and written communication skills; and ability to mentor and direct others.
PREFERRED: experience with quality assurance for all functions resulting in improved financial performance; experience working in a hospital, health insurance, or university health center pharmacy; experience leading evidence-based clinical decision-making; ability to secure the cooperation of others in the pursuit of common objectives, set expectations, and help create a vision; well-versed in the relationships between third-party requirements, coding, documentation, billing equations, pricing updates, and organizational resources; strong working knowledge of department improvement assessment/tools and ability to foster conflict resolution desirable.
