The Qiao Lab in the Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry (CBC), School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking applicants with expertise in natural product discovery to join us as a Research Fellow.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop sample preparation methods to enrich peptidoglycan molecules from serum for LCMSMS analysis
  • Develop LCMSMS workflow for targeted and untargeted analysis of blood peptiodglycan molecules and quantitification
  • Analyze human patients and animal serum samples to investigate the peptidogycomic profile differennce to elucidate the functional roles

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology or related fields.
  • Experiences in natural product isolation and identification, in vitro assay development, and protein biochemistry
  • Familiar with and able to operate HPLC, FPLC, HR-LCMS/MS, NMR
  • Highly motivated, committed, and capable to work independently as well as in a group
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Good communication skills in English (both written and oral)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
