ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH AND COUNSELING (SMH&C), MIT Medical, to provide administrative support for the associate medical director and other members of the SMH&C leadership team as needed. Will serve as a key contributor to the function and flow of a busy office suite. Responsibilities will include prioritizing, sequencing, and executing administrative tasks in a highly visible role; composing correspondence in the voices of the principals, editing reports and news items, and drafting department-wide communications; assembling complex data for the principals to present in the form of tables, charts, and PowerPoint presentations; scheduling the associate medical director’s activities, fielding a wide array of phone calls with diplomacy, and organizing high-profile meeting logistics; acting as a support and resource at meetings, including attending and taking minutes; coordinating and arranging travel, events, and special projects; and supporting the administrative and departmental projects of the associate chiefs, including meeting and calendar coordination.
REQUIRED: high school diploma or GED equivalent; at least three years’ experience in a customer service or administrative role required; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and to follow through; effective telephone skills and ability to communicate with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff; and strong organizational skills. Must be able to follow through on tasks; work both independently or within a team environment; add, subtract, multiply, and divide with accuracy; and work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
PREFERRED: associate’s degree or higher in communications, business, or other relevant field; and experience in a health care setting. Job #18760-5
