Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Caregiving of Children with Developmental Delays in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 500443), to commence as soon as possible until July 31, 2021.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or other related disciplines with at least 3 years’ work experience. They should have demonstrated expertise in analysing large and complex qualitative and quantitative datasets; excellent written and spoken communication skills; and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Preference will be given to those with experience in conducting randomised controlled trials and handling psychophysiological data, and with the basic understanding of implementation science.

The appointee will work on the JC A-Connect: Jockey Club Autism Support Network Project which is aimed at providing holistic support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) attending mainstream schools, their parents and teachers. Currently, the project is piloting the World Health Organization Caregiver Skills Training Programme to equip the parents of children with ASD and developmental delays with essential parenting and behavioural management skills to foster the optimal development of their children. The appointee will be responsible for evaluating a pragmatic, randomised controlled trial of improving caregiver-child communication and caregiver stress. He/She will conduct qualitative interviews, focus groups, sophisticated statistical analyses; write scientific publications and reports; and assist in general administrative, operational and other duties as assigned.
