Job Description Summary

Plans and conducts basic laboratory experiments to meet research project objectives with close supervision (for RS-A) or moderate supervision (for RS-B).

Job Description

Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental set ups in accordance to established protocols.

  • Prepare staged C. elegans samples and image by confocal and electron microscopy 
  • Perform microinjections, genome editing and genetic crosses to generate new C. elegans strains 
  • Generate plasmid constructs by molecular cloning and PCR  
  • Organize and maintain lab stocks, records and equipment, and monitor lab safety 
  • Attend lab meetings, scientific talks, etc. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications

for RS-A: Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research methodologies

for RS-B: Bachelor's Degree with 2 or more years of related experience in research methodologies

Laboratory, Office, Library, Computer Room; Requires extensive safety

Physical Effort

Typically sitting at a desk or table; Occasional lifting 25 lb. or less
