Applications are invited for a Specified Purpose post of a Lecturer / Assistant Professor in Computer Science within UCD School of Computer Science

The UCD School of Computer Science is Ireland's leading computer science School in terms of teaching and research. It offers teaching programmes at BSc and Masters level that attract top students from Ireland and overseas. The staff are active in research and have leadership positions in research programmes such as Insight Centre for Data Analytics (insight-centre.org), Consus (consus.ie), CeADAR - Centre for Applied Data Analytics (http://ceadar.ie/) and I-Form (www.i-form.ie).

The School is committed to excellence in teaching and research and to supporting the Information & Communications Technology sector that is such an important part of the Irish economy. In order to address the demand for graduates and postgraduates in Computer Science, the School is recruiting a Lecturer / Assistant Professor to support the expansion of the BSc and MSc programmes.

The appointed Lecturer/Assistant Professor will be expected to teach on the BSc and MSc programmes provided by the School and also contribute to the research activity in the School. Candidates with expertise in the research areas that are the focus of research activity within the School will be preferred. These areas are:

  • Computer Security
  • Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • Digital Health
  • Foundations of Computing
  • Human-Computer Interaction
  • Information Systems
  • Intelligent Sensing
  • Software Engineering and Distributed Systems
  • Emerging Topics such as Sustainability and Machine Ethics

95 Lecturer / Assistant Professor (Below the Bar) salary scale: €34,065 - €59,788 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
