About the position
The Tactical Research Unit (TRU) was established at Bond University in 2015 and its extensive research within the tactical environment is internationally recognised. The TRU works towards the protection and performance of individuals on the front line who protect our community and country. The TRU is a network of multidisciplinary international experts who investigate ways to optimise the physical and cognitive capabilities and safety of tactical personal – whether military, law enforcement, firefighters or first responder organisations.
Under the direction of the TRU Director, the successful candidates will make a significant contribution to research in the tactical area. This may include working in ongoing projects or establishing new research streams within the TRU scope. It is expected that these positions will foster a broad interest and involvement in research and research training in their area of expertise within the TRU and within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine.
About the person:
To be considered for these appointments, candidates must possess a PhD in an area relevant to the project as well as research knowledge and expertise in areas of musculoskeletal pathologies. Previous experience in writing systematic reviews with meta-analysis, experimental planning, data interpretation and analysis and drafting of papers for publication is essential.
A proven history of Peer Reviewed publications is required, previous grant awards and demonstrated experience in seeking and applying for relevant grants will be beneficial. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to train and supervise students and research assistants.
Experience within the tactical environment (whether serving, providing support or research) is preferable but not essential.

Remuneration for the appointment will commence at $94 057 plus 9.5% superannuation per annum.
