Stanford University seeks an IT Software Developer for its Redwood City, California, location.  


Provide IT services for Oracle Financials Systems with regard to Procure to Pay applications, using strong combination of functional and technical knowledge of Oracle E-business suite version R12. Support custom application integration with other Oracle Financials Systems and Enterprise Data Warehousing.  Independently propose, conceptualize, design, implement, and develop solutions for difficult and complex applications for Oracle E-Business Suite applications including iProcurement, iExpenses, iSupplier, Purchasing, Payables, Payments and Contracts, custom financial applications, and applications developed internally at Stanford using Oracle Application Framework (OAF) and Oracle Application Express (APEX). Handle testing, debugging, change control, documentation, and production support for major projects, drawing on a thorough understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle and quality control practices. Assist project manager in developing project scope, schedule, and resources. Analyze business requirements, design, development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Provide status reports to business and information technology management, using strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients. Work with other technical professionals to develop standards and implement best practices, drawing on strong understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases, and data modeling. Define complex application development administration and programming standards. Work with business owners and analysts on system enhancements and upgrades. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. Review physical design of existing systems to optimize performance. Partner with business management to define appropriate technical solutions. Collaborate with peers on special systems and application development in areas of complex problems or for enterprise wide integration requirements. Adapt to different Software Development Life Cycle methods, including Waterfall and Agile. Adapt to different software version control and management, including SVN and Git. Work effectively with individuals across departments and roles. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or directly related field, plus five years of closely related, progressive, post-Bachelor’s degree IT experience.  

Additional requirements: Full term (5 years) of experience must include:

  • Performing software production support activities including evaluating Patches/Fixes, maintaining system configurations, running batch cycles, data cleanup, testing, filing/resolving service requests, and estimating enhancements
  • Using Oracle eBusiness Suite, including iProcurement, iExpense, iSupplier, Purchasing, Payables, Payment on Release 12 or higher
  • Java programming and related technologies including JDeveloper with either Oracle Application Framework or Application Development Framework, API Gateway and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) , APEX, Oracle Workflow, Oracle Forms, and XML Publisher
  • Using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • May telecommute some of time at employer discretion
