A Research Fellow position is available in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Job Description

  • Growth of 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructures with CVD method
  • Design novel electronic devices, especially tunneling devices, based on the materials
  • Fabricated and characterize the devices
  • Summarize the data achieved and draft academic reports/journal papers

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, etc
  • Experienced on the controllable growth of 2D materials, especially with CVD method
  • Familiar with density functional theory calculation with Materials Studio
  • Background in design of 2D materials based electric devices, including but not limited to tunneling transistors, logic inverters, and photodetectors
  • Know how to fabricate the devices with standard lithography and deposition process
  • High quality publications in reputed journals, such as Science, Nature and Nature Nanotechnology
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a group and independently

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
