INSTITUTE OF TEXTILES AND CLOTHING

Teaching Fellow in Fashion Business (two posts) (Ref. 20060407)

Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a)    engage in teaching and learning activities, and conduct lectures, tutorials, seminars and practical sessions on the related subject areas; 

(b)    prepare and develop materials, design teaching and assessment strategies, deliver teaching in academic settings appropriate for the objectives of learning, interact with and motivate students, and assess the performance of and give feedback to students;

(c)    contribute to the development of subject curriculum and pedagogy, overall teaching and learning approaches/strategies as well as subject administration;

(d)    assist in the development and management of relevant teaching facilities; 

(e)    participate in pedagogical research and consultancy projects; and

(f)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Institute or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a master’s degree, preferably with a PhD, in a relevant discipline or a relevant professional qualification;

(b)    not less than three years of post-qualification tertiary teaching experience and/or industrial experience in fashion marketing and management, preferably at international level;

(c)    sound knowledge of university teaching experience in areas such as digital marketing and data analytics, strategic management, quality management, brand management and consumer understanding, retail buying and merchandising;

(d)    an established track record of research outputs in top-tier refereed journals as well as research grant applications, with postgraduate supervisions being an advantage; and

(e)    good communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.

Preference will be given to those who have strong research orientation and a good teaching record.  

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Appointment will only be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
