The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering invites application for the position of Research Fellow.

Job Description

The Research Fellow will work on a project to conduct the research on development of neuro-inspired or neuromorphic algorithms exploiting properties of ionic-electronic coupled systems.

The roles of this position include:

  • Development learning & programming schemes for in-memory computing based Deep Neural Network systems
  • Development of novel plasticity algorithms for learning in spiking neural network algorithms

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Expertise in spiking neural network learning algorithms
  • Expertise in hardware requirements of NVM devices for in-memory learning of Deep Neural Networks
  • Proficiency in basics of programming languages such as C, C++ and Python
  • Proficiency in DNN packages like Pytorch or Tensorflow etc

About Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
