The International Business, Marketing and Branding (IBMB) research center within the School of Management at University of Bradford is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic academic at the Lecturer level specializing in the field of Digital and Social Media Marketing. The successful candidate will join the IBMB Research Centre, which is a key area of future growth and investment for the School Two new Digital Marketing degrees are being proposed to the existing marketing portfolio in September 2020 - BSc Digital Marketing and MSc Digital and Strategic Marketing. These programmes are being co-designed with input from leading industry professionals and key partners. We are looking to maintain our growth in this area by recruiting skilled academic staff who can play a leading role in contributing to this ambition.

The new degrees seek to provide students with an understanding of traditional marketing and then develop knowledge and skills, which enable students to apply this knowledge to digital contexts. An important element of both degrees will be offering a blend of marketing content with specialist knowledge of the digital industry – ideally applicants will have a mix of both academic and practitioner experience. You will be working with a team of highly skilled and motivated marketers and academics to build and raise the profile of Digital Marketing teaching and practices within the school and at a regional level. You shall have working and teaching knowledge of various digital marketing tools and practices like social media, UX and CX, SEO and SEM, PPC advertising, conversion rate optimization, content marketing, Google analytics, digital metrics, data analytics, digital campaign management, InDesign, Photoshop etc. Through your professional networks, you will promote the continuous development of the courses, reflecting critically on the broader context of practice and educational provision internationally. As a Lecturer in the area, you will also be expected to deliver other digital and marketing modules with the research center.

The ideal candidate must possess a Doctorate in a relevant field and will be expected to have a research track record at 3* or 4* CABS journals and continue to be research active with some grant capture activity and ambition. You shall have a productive research and scholarship agenda focused on digital and social media marketing, demonstrating the ability to publish in internationally-ranked peer-reviewed journals. The candidate will be expected to lead and contribute to the development and direction of Digital Marketing at the School and University level. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to digital learning, working closely with established partners and contributing towards the School’s leading FT ranked distance learning MBA Programme.
