Job Details

We are looking for a proactive individual with experience in clinical scientific computing and clinical engineering who has a high level of scientific understanding, technical ability and knowledge of regulatory processes to help design and implement quality assurance systems and development processes to assist in the translation of our research. This is an exciting opportunity to work on novel software solutions in collaboration with clinicians and engineers in a clinical academic setting.

The primary role of the post holder will be to guide application of regulatory, quality and safety standards of different project teams in the Centre for Medical Engineering (CME) to develop healthcare software as medical devices for release to the clinic to be used in first-in-human studies and follow-up clinical investigations. Emphasis will be given on the implementation of flexible and agile development processes that can meet the varied requirements of academic research projects as they progress along the translational pathway.

The individual will be expected to provide expert advice regarding the development of medical devices and identify gaps in information and processes; recommending solutions and be responsible for setting standards and procedures that meet the needs of different groups across the CME. 

The post holder will help establish and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) and act as the quality lead for software design control processes. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the University’s partner Trusts, including colleagues from Guy’s & St. Thomas’ hospitals, in establishing compliant software development processes.

Fixed-term contract until 27th April 2022

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent
