PROGRAM MANAGER, INITIATIVE FOR KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION IN MANUFACTURING (IKIM), Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE), to be responsible for marketing, communications, budgeting, and operations for all programs within Professor Lionel Kimerling’s twenty-person group with multiple budgets. Will oversee the launch of a new Open edX platform--which could become the online platform for the entire DoD by working with an outside vendor, the DoD, and other manufacturing institutes to put content on the platform; and serve as the public relations officer for AIM Photonics Academy, an IKIM subgroup. Responsibilities include maintaining a destination website for company/government/education partners, students, and the media; writing articles, creating mailings, and maintaining social media presence; managing the group’s internship matching program by matching students at MIT and other area colleges to companies/research institutes; coordinating with the heads of different IKIM projects to meet reporting requirements; assessing all organization activities, including roadmap meetings, bootcamps, and short courses; maintaining communication with AIM Institute to ensure that the Institute receives the committed deliverables, resources, and information it needs; and writing grants and submitting proposals for multimillion dollar project opportunities. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least three years’ administrative, operations, and/or program management experience; excellent project management, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; and ability to work both independently and as part of a team and handle and follow through on multiple projects/tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

PREFERRED:  MBA or master's in public policy or education, journalism experience with media releases and production and commercial and governmental sector public relations, experience producing public education materials and associated media presence and releases, and experience with online course development.  Job #18645-8

Hiring range: $70,000 - 85,000, with salary commensurate with relevant experience\

This is a one year position with potential to renew based upon funding.
