Deputy Director of Human Resources

Docklands

The University of East London is a vibrant and diverse university located in Stratford and Royal Albert Dock, at the heart of the industrial and creative shift east. We are implementing a new strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum and partnerships to make a positive difference to student, graduate and community success. Our goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the jobs of the future and ensures that our students have the skills, emotional intelligence and creativity necessary to adapt to a constantly-evolving world and its technology.

A critical element of our Vision 2028 strategy is to ensure that UEL’s organisation and people are ‘fit for purpose’ to deliver these ambitious and challenging goals. The priority organisation and people initiatives to drive the agenda are being delivered through the University’s ‘Flourishing Talent Framework’. This organisational development programme incorporates a range of critical people-focused activities focusing on productivity, resourcing, staff and leadership development and employee engagement.

We are now seeking to appoint the Deputy Director of Human Resources who, working closely with the Director of Human Resources and the HR Leadership Team, will lead our organisational development programme.

You will be an experienced HR leader with a track record of developing and implementing successful organisational development programmes that have led to measurable improvements in performance and engagement. You will also have experience of long-term workforce planning and the development of recognition and reward programmes. With a strong generalist HR background and able to deputise effectively for the Director of HR, you will have the personal presence, confidence and resilience needed to operate at the highest levels.
