POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Chemical Engineering/Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Love Lab, to help uncover the mechanisms for MHC-linked susceptibility to type 1 diabetes using a novel single-cell analytical technology to examine the function of beta-cell-specific T cells in patients and normal subjects with different predisposing or protective MHC genotypes.

Will design, implement, and analyze experiments to address this objective and manage technical assistance facilitating the execution of the work. This project involves collaboration with an existing team of researchers engaged in various aspects of the project and with the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and University of Colorado.

The Love Lab is an interdisciplinary academic research lab engaged in a variety of projects ranging from antibody discovery; to rapid manufacturing of biologics; to immune profiling of chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, food allergies, and cancer. The lab employs graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and technical staff with a range of scientific backgrounds from engineering to immunology.

Job Requirements

a Ph.D. in immunology, biological sciences, or related field; experience in autoimmunity, T cell biology, or cellular biology; and experience in more than one of the following areas:  immunology, autoimmunity, genetics, cellular assays, imaging, and microarrays.

Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills and be seriously interested in addressing outstanding questions in the mechanisms of autoimmunity with a goal towards new therapies.

Excellent documentation and strong interpersonal skills desired; as are the ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary team setting, prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and execute detailed technical protocols meticulously.
