Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The successful applicant will share in the clinical veterinary care of over a dozen different species housed in the 138,000 square feet of centrally managed research facilities. Responsibilities include assisting in oversight of the quarantine and sentinel program, assisting in the ARC training program as well as the ACLAM veterinary residency training program, contributing to the development of institutional animal care and use policies, participating in IACUC protocol review and providing investigator consultation on research protocols. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.  Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. We especially welcome applicants with ACLAM board certification or eligibility.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must:

  1. have a DVM or VMD from an AVMA accredited institution,
  2. hold or be eligible for veterinary licensure in the State of Illinois,
  3. have completed training in laboratory animal medicine.

Review of applications ends when the position is filled.
