An opportunity has arisen for a part time Senior Research Associate within the School for Policy Studies.

The LeDeR Programme is managed and funded by NHSE and is aimed at helping to improve the quality of health and social care service delivery for people with learning disabilities and to reduce premature mortality and health inequalities. The University of Bristol has supported this work for a number of years, but its involvement will come to a planned at the end of May 2021. This is an exciting opportunity to assist with the analysis and reporting of data provided to the programme about the deaths of people with learning disabilities.

You will have high-level analytical skills, including the use of epidemiological techniques. We are looking for a person who is confident in analysing and interpreting research data (including comparisons with general population data) and determining and deploying appropriate statistical techniques e.g. standardised mortality rates; weighting; frequency and effect measures. You will have excellent written communication skills and already have some publications in respected academic/practitioner journals and have well-developed verbal communication skills and experience of presenting your work at conferences.

We are looking for someone able to use their initiative, who pays meticulous attention to detail and maintains a high level of accuracy in analysing, interpreting and writing up data. You will have an in-depth knowledge of the health and social care systems in England, and of potential gaps in the provision of their care for people with learning disabilities.
