Job Details
Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute - Advanced Environmental Biotechnology Centre invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of biological solutes (polypeptides, lipids, carbohydrates) present in either fermentation broth or wastewaters
- Identifying as many basic components (from low MW (100-500 Da) up to high MW (10-150 kDa)) in the food wastewaters from brewers, soy bean processing, and soy sauce manufacturers
- Chemically characterise the wastewaters to identify “valuable” solutes so that they can then be separated and recovered by another RF and then sold
Job Requirements:
- A recognized PhD in Analytical Chemistry, or possibly Environmental/Biochemical Engineering
- Expertise and experience in analytical techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS/MS or LC-TOF, 2D gel chromatography, ELISA
- Fresh PhD graduates are welcome
- Having 2-3 years of post-doctoral experience is advantageous

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.
The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
