SENIOR INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIST, Sloan School of Management-Instructional Technology Support Services (ITSS), to join a team that is passionate about improving teaching and learning in the classroom, online, and in blended learning environments. Will serve as the primary administrator of Sloan’s Learning Management System (Canvas), handling multifaceted day-to-day work as a part of its digital learning ecosystem. Responsibilities include effectively managing the course lifecycle in Canvas, which includes providing consultation to faculty, staff, and TAs regarding their instructional technology goals for a portfolio of courses each term; collecting and reporting on key metrics related to learning services provided; researching, evaluating, and deploying new technologies in response to pedagogical needs; coordinating and supervising services provided by vendors/consultants/interns as required; and serving as a liaison on behalf of STS to other MIT organizations in instructional technologies. Will report to the manager of instructional technology.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a high school diploma and three years of relevant work experience and experience serving as an administrator of Canvas LMS and other key platforms that support learning, researching, evaluating, and deploying new technologies, including third party tools that use LTI and API frameworks. Must be able to project and relationship manage; plan, design, market, and deliver Canvas and other instructional technology training opportunities; and partner collaboratively with faculty and program offices in order to help them meet their teaching and learning goals and objectives.
PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or similar field. Job #18727-7
