The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.

• Active participation in education of undergraduate and graduate students
• Participates in research and development of education and other research materials
• Participates in the medical genetics, genetic counseling, and patient advocacy communities
• Provides genetic counseling and facilitating communication of test results
• Performs research on genes and novel sequence variants to determine clinical relevance
• Assists in variant classification based on emerging scientific information

Work Location : Genetics and Genomics Lab.

Minimum Qualification

Required:

• Degree from an accredited genetic counseling program

Preferred Qualification

3-5 years experience in academic institution Experience with coordination of Genetic Counseling program Familiarity with human mutation databases, genome browsers, and HGVS nomenclature Board-certification preferred

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

More than 2 years’ experience in a clinical position or at diagnostic laboratory
