Role Description

The Research Commercial team provides support and assistance to Academic Departments in the preparation of bids, proposals and quotations. This includes preparation of costs, recommendations on pricing, advice/negotiation on research and consultancy contractual issues, and advice on Export and other legislation.

This position will provide a key role in coordinating and assisting the Research Commercial function in its day-to-day activities. This will include but is not exclusive to preparing template information and documents, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our internal database systems, reviewing contractual documentation for accuracy and supporting the team in communicating and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

The individual will have experience of working in a commercial or legal environment and assisting in entry and management of a large dataset of records. You should have excellent communication skills, sound knowledge of Excel, be self-motivated and able to work under pressure to demanding timescales. Experience of reviewing contractual documents for accuracy would be an advantage.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
