Job Details
Asian School of the Environment (ASE) invite applications for a Research Associate position to work on observational seismology research.
Job Responsibilities
- Work on seismic waveform data processing in Myanmar and Sumatra
- Develop tools for observational seismology research in Southeast Asia
- Inversion of the earthquake source parameters in near real time and later in-depth study, multiple data constraint on kinematic rupture properties of large earthquakes
- Waveform modelling and inversion for the velocity structure in Myanmar and Sumatra
- Strong motion simulation of large earthquakes involving 3D-velocity models and complicated rupture models
Job Requirements
- MSc in Seismology or Geophysics or similar degree
- Minimum four years of relevant experience
- Excellent skills in programming (e.g. C/Fortran), and seismic data processing
- Effective communication skills

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.
The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:

• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
