An outstanding opportunity exists for a visionary and inspirational leader to take up the role as Charles Sturt University’s next Vice-Chancellor.

With its origin dating back to 1895 and incorporated as a university in 1989, Charles Sturt University (CSU) is the largest university in Australia located outside a major capital city with an enrolment of 46,000 students. The University’s broad geographic spread of campuses allows it serve the distinct needs of diverse communities from northern New South Wales to central Victoria and beyond.

With the recent addition of medicine, CSU has a comprehensive range of courses and is the largest provider of IT education in Australia. The University’s achievements in graduate outcomes, community and industry engagement, sustainability and innovative research, have impacted locally, nationally and globally and CSU has long been a leader in distance and online education.

The University is now entering a critical period of transformation. The new Vice-Chancellor will navigate through an ever-evolving economic and political climate with akey focus on regional communities and a commitment to the public good to uniquely position CSU for a strong and sustainable future.

The successful candidate will be a champion of excellence and will model a high-performance culture which enables learning, teaching, research, innovation and regional community engagement to flourish. The University seeks a seasoned, energetic yet grounded and passionate individual who can help CSU achieve its strategy and develop its leadership for the next phase of its journey.
