The ESIPP programme focuses on Energy Systems Integration (ESI) and seeks to optimise the energy system and other large scale infrastructures, in particular water, by leveraging the synergies across all scales and pathways (i.e. electricity, fuels & heat). ESIPPs is led by University College Dublin and partners with Dublin City University (DCU), Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), National University of Galway (NUIG) and Trinity College Dublin (TCD) with strong collaborative links to major energy industry players, such as AIB, EirGrid, Ervia, ESB, Glen Dimplex and SSE. The IE Lab was established in partnership with Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) whereby researchers work side-by-side with partners (utilities, system operators, multinational companies, SMEs and start-ups, state agencies and other international laboratories) to investigate, develop and demonstrate cutting-edge solutions to important global energy challenges.
The Energy Institute is the hub for energy research and innovation in UCD and offers a dynamic team orientated environment. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work closely with academics both within UCD and across Europe as well as leading Irish and international companies.
