A Wellcome Trust-funded post-doctoral Research Associate position in Biochemistry is available from 1st October 2020 at the School of Biochemistry, University of Bristol.

As part of a dynamic team, you will analyse the structure and function of factors involved in translational control in vitro and in vivo. Outstanding applicants have a strong background in biochemistry, biophysics and/or structural biology. Expertise in protein biochemistry and crystallography or electron cryo-microscopy is essential. Experience in cell culture, ribosome/RNA biochemistry and in vitro translation is a plus.

A PhD (awarded or imminent) in Biochemistry, Structural Biology or a related field with a good track record of publications is essential.  You will be a highly motivated, committed individual who enjoys working as part of a highly dynamic, collaborative and multidisciplinary team and will have good communication skills. 

You will be based in the Berger-Schaffitzel (lead) laboratory in a highly collaborative setup including the Berger and Crump groups (Bristol), the Kulozik and Hentze groups (Univ. of Heidelberg, Germany) and Rappsilber group (Univ. of Edinburgh & Berlin). We are seeking to fill the post asap.
