- Located on the Camperdown Campus in the Brain and Mind Centre
- Full-time, 12-month fixed term, (with an opportunity for an extension of up to 3 years), with a base salary of $74K - $83K p.a., plus leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation
About the opportunity
The Research Assistant/Neurophysiology Technician provides technical and operational support to Prof. Matthew Kiernan and the ForeFront team. Under the general supervision of a neurologist, but according to established procedures, you will perform nerve conduction studies and transcranial magnetic stimulation in the diagnosis of patients with neurological disorders.
The role also involves conducting and preparing relevant materials in collaboration with team members and facilitating the efficient operation of the research clinic by providing essential technical and operational support. The incumbent will be expected to coordinate the activities associated with research projects and work towards ensuring that experiments and other work activities are prepared for and run smoothly.

- a BSc in Clinical Measurement Science or a certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement
- experience in a Neurophysiology department practicing nerve conduction studies
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills
- a working understanding of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety Policy and relevant legislation, including Safe Laboratory Practices, as applicable to the work environment.
