Job Description Summary
The Addiction, Health, & Adolescence (AHA!) Lab) in the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania is recruiting a full-time Research Coordinator to begin July 2020 (start date flexible). The position offers an interdisciplinary research experience, combining approaches from communication science, experimental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience.
Job Description
In addition to providing direct research support to the principal investigator, other primary duties include:
- Provide all aspects of research support and oversee all lab operations and coordinate lab meetings. Manage undergraduate Research Assistants and coordinate the entire study team.
- Collaborate with PI on study design, development, and protocols. Collaborate with PI and other study team members on other research projects as part of team collective. Assist with IRB and grant proposal preparation. Author study research papers; perform literature searches.
- Identify, recruit and schedule eligible study participants; execute subject payments; conduct informed consent/assent process and data collection sessions for experimental laboratory and MRI studies; develop data collection protocols and perform data collection in the field.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records and study databases, including source documents, consent forms, protocol documents, and regulatory documents, as required by the IRB. Document study procedures and maintain study documentation. Maintain lab documentation for best practices, publications, update website, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field with 1-3 years of related experience in research study methods or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Strong computer and technical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and prior experience in experimental laboratory data collection. Must be detail-oriented and able to trouble-shoot independently while recognizing when to ask questions. Comfort and skill with working with diverse participants is essential.
Position is contingent on continued grant funding. Child abuse background check will be required.
