  • Salary range: $122,456 to $140,861 plus 17% superannuation
  • Includes clinical dental loading of $15,842 and an attraction and retention allowance of $15,797 in addition

About the School

The UWA Dental School is a contemporary, progressive, innovative and vibrant centre of excellence in dentistry. It is composed of three academic units and the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA). Our mission is to achieve excellence in dental education, research and oral health care to the benefit of our local community and the advancement of dentistry globally. This is achieved by highly qualified academics and staff, interacting with dedicated and engaged students, in state-of-the-art facilities, with up-to-date equipment and technology.

OHCWA is a partnership between The University of Western Australia and the Department of Health of Western Australia, and is the primary focus for oral health education, research and specialist care delivery in Western Australia. It treats approximately 15,000 patients a year and delivers a range of clinical and technical training programmes. OHCWA is located on the QEII campus adjacent to the new Perth Children's Hospital.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Head of School, Dental School and Director OHCWA, you will serve as the Discipline Lead in Prosthodontics within the School and will be responsible for the clinical and didactic teaching of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) students, as well as coordinating the OHCWA clinical programme in Prosthodontics. You will be expected to advance the DClinDent course in Prosthodontics and advise the Head of School in the CAD/CAM dental clinical laboratory related matters.

About you

The University is seeking an individual who can demonstrate their achievements as a dental specialist and can provide high-level input into the School's graduate and postgraduate courses and programs, in addition to research, especially research relevant to the School's strategic research agenda, as measured by publications in refereed or professional journals, and citations of these publications, grant funding and supervision of research higher degree students.

The appointment offers a unique opportunity for a dental academic to develop innovative learning opportunities for all levels of students and pursue cutting-edge research. The successful candidate will be expected to lead graduate (DMD) and postgraduate (DClinDent) teaching in Prosthodontics, as well as contribute to the research strengths of the School, in addition to advising the Head of School on the CAD/CAM dental clinical laboratory matters.

You will have completed PhD or equivalent research higher degree.
